You advised prior to class that the "Developing the Leader Within You" course would not be the typical management training. Your comments could not have been more correct. I have attended several classes on management. None of them have been quite like this one. I know that completing this course will benefit not only myself but also our agency. Most of the previous training I have attended focused on management, not true leadership. Many see these terms as interchangeable. However, this course showed that is not true. Leadership is so much more than just managing people; it is inspiring them.

It was a pleasure taking part in today's segment of "Developing the Leader in You". This was the first leadership training I've attended that placed a true emphasis on self-efficacy. Challenging one's beliefs in their own capability to successfully perform tasks and achieve goals opens the door for personal development. I feel this was a crucial step to foster belief in one's abilities and identify deficiencies, both will aid in developing a more confident leader. I'm looking forward to the next installment!
